About FaultAid
FaultAid helps you understand what your washing machine, dishwasher or tumble dryer is telling you, so you can fix the simple things safely and know when it’s time to call an engineer.
What we do
We explain appliance error codes and common faults in plain English. Each page starts with a short answer, then lists the signs that mean you should stop, then the checks manufacturers say you can safely do yourself. At the moment we cover 59 error codes across 9 brands and 36 common problems. You can look any of them up with our fault finder.
Independent
FaultAid isn’t a manufacturer, a retailer or a repair company, and it isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any brand we write about. Brand names are used only to identify the appliances they make.
Who runs FaultAid
FaultAid is run by Javier Contreras, a UK sole trader based in England, trading as FaultAid.
Where our answers come from
Every error code page is checked against the manufacturer’s own support pages or manuals, and each page lists its sources with the date we checked them. If the manufacturer’s pages disagree with each other, we say so. Read more in how we check.
How the site is funded
Some pages include links to product searches on Amazon UK. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those links only appear after the safety information, never on pages about stop-using faults, and they never change what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
