Privacy notice
Last updated 11 October 2026
This notice explains how personal data is handled when you use faultaid.co.uk.
Who we are
FaultAid is run by Javier Contreras, a UK sole trader based in England, trading as FaultAid (“FaultAid”, “we”). Javier Contreras is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@faultaid.co.uk.
What we collect
- Browsing. FaultAid doesn’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and doesn’t ask you to sign in. Like any website, our hosting provider processes standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver pages and keep the service secure.
- The fault finder. What you choose and type in the fault finder stays in your browser. It isn’t sent to us, stored, or added to the web address.
- Email. If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply, and keep them only as long as needed for that.
Amazon links
If you click an Amazon link, you leave FaultAid. Amazon may set its own cookies to record that you came from us. Amazon’s own privacy notice applies there.
Lawful basis
We rely on legitimate interests to run a secure website and to reply to messages you send us.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your personal data, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@faultaid.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Changes
If we add analytics or advertising in future, we will update this notice and our cookie policy first, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
