Bosch Washing Machine Error Codes
Bosch codes usually show as E followed by two digits. Some models show F instead of E (E18 or F18), and older UK manuals print them as F:18.
Codes can vary by model
Check the model number on your washing machine’s rating label and your manual. We only list codes we’ve checked against Bosch guidance. For anything else, use Bosch UK support.
| Code | What it means | Severity |
|---|---|---|
| E16 also F16 | The door isn’t locked properly, so the programme can’t start. | Usually simple |
| E17 also F17 | The machine has taken longer than it allows to fill with water (water supply time exceeded). | Usually simple |
| E18 also F18, d02 | The washing machine isn’t draining: the water isn’t being pumped away. | Check carefully |
| E23 also F23 | The machine has detected a leak or water in its base plate, and its AquaStop leak protection may have activated. | Likely needs an engineer |
